Colors by Bernhard Schlafke

Since I’ve been painting, drawing, modelling or in some way creatively dealing with my surroundings or the white surface, I’ve been searching; what, I still don’t know?

I encounter forms, images and little stories that blossom, inflate, take shape and become images.

This series of seven acrylic paintings on 8,8 oz/ft heavy drawing paper were created using an experimental wiping technique, whereby colors (primarily basic colors are used here), painting ground, the craftsmanship of the painter and fantasy move correspondingly by chance towards the desired picture result.

A warm welcome to my world of wild colors.

„You tell‘em I‘m comin‘ and hell is comin‘ wit‘ me!“ , Wyatt Earp

At some point the content of this quotation germinates in the childlike and/or youthful world of the mind, in one or the other alternative, and for a moment the youthful soul inflates itself becoming a monstrous hero who rides all alone through the plains but silently sinks into itself literally coming down to deal with reality…
